Season 4 - San Carlos moving into work yard

San Carlos, Sonora, Mexico - Prairie SeaShell Sea Stories

San Carlos, September 24, 2009

Moving
PSS loading on trailer to move work yard
Finally at 8:15 in the morning, just as I arrived at the storage yard, the crew were preparing to load PSS onto the trailer.

PSS was the first boat out of the storage yard to move into the work yard, three weeks since the storm "Jimena".

Notice that the wall is still being finished. Still no power or water to the work yard and no fence running along the top of the wall yet.

The wall that will house the water and power is still not finished, so still no power or water, but I can borrow power from a neighbouring boat ( who weathered the storm on board his boat in the work yard ) who has a generator that is working.

Spent the last few days here doing a patch job on the rudder. I've seen a small spot where it looks like sea water may be getting into the rudder. I'm removing the rudder bolts and inserting a stainless steel sleeve.  I'm waiting for Hernandez, from Guaymas, to bring me some stainless tubing. Not sure when that might happen, and I'm running out of time.

I think the weather has started to change. The days are still hot but after the sun goes down it is quit comfortable.

[Webmaster] As the last few updates are turning more into a blog, I have added a blog for Don and Lynn. See http://oasiscruise.com/Prairie-SeaShell/Prairie-SeaShell-Blog

Only registered users will be able to comment. Registration is free and painless.

Will also be adding a Prairie SeaShell forum in the near future. If time and internet connections allow, hopefully Don and Lynn can particpate.
